The local career center told me that they now have extremely limited access to unemployment claims and to contact the Nashville claims center. Ok first order of business I know how the whole health care issue is being made into this big complicated monstrosity. I would llike to get people's input on this and maybe some insight into better understanding a way ahead. First let me say that my question is not based on politics I'm not representing democrats or republicans as a matter of fact politics and money is what is frustrating me with this entire health care issue. I hear about all of this debating and I want to ask what is the real issue that everyone cares about correct me if I am wrong but I think it is access to dependable and reputable healthcare. The next issue I have, Is it wise to put health care interests in the hands of for profit enterprise. Now this is not an attack on health insurance companies but it is a question to the average person. I have read countless stories of people who thought they had good insurance for years all of the sudden they get sick the insurance pays the lowest possible cost and then cancels their coverage. Or here is another example, former health insurance employees tell of how draconian the companies are that they have worked for when it comes paying for coverage they would rather cancel people's policy. I am forced to wonder how long will it be before doctor's and nurses will be required to have an M.B.A. as a prerequisite for practicing medicine. I am all for free enterprise but something just does not sound right when you have an entire industry based on the soaring cost of healthcare and people's inability to pay for it. Seems that you are at the mercy of your insurance company at the time that you need them most. It seems that access to healthcare has been debated and put on the back burner for over 50 years combined with the fact that the people making the decisions regarding healthcare access rarely have to concern themselves with access to healthcare for themselves or their families, I'm just wondering how much longer is this cycle going to continue before something tangible gets done. I'm not saying healthcare should be totally free. I'm not saying that healthcare costs should destroy the middle class either. I definitely think that a for profit company priorities are to make a profit and answer to stockholders where does the patient come in on this equation. Does anybody out there have any viable solution or are we doomed to keep repeating the same mistake over and over again where the bottomline seems to be when all is said and done when it comes to healthcare access you have to fend for yourself.

I am 17 (boy) and passed my test on 15.08.2013 and I cannot get a quote under 4000 because of where I live. It turned out, the guy's insurance had expired just 1 month before. We told the guy and he said okay and will pay by cash. My dad went to the autodealer and the price is about $4000. Where did I go wrong? A few months back, I backed out of a parking place and stopped, waiting for traffic behind me to resolve itself. While stopped, a large vehicle backed into my driver side door. We both re-parked. The other driver first tried to convince me there was no damage and we should both forget it but after I showed him the damage to my door (his car had almost no damage), we exchanged insurance and personal contact information in a friendly conversation. I reported the damage to my insurance carrier, a large national firm, obtained the required 2 estimates for repair and submitted it, as directed by my carrier and his, to his carrier, a large regional carrier. They informed me he had decided my car was not stopped and so I bore responsibility for his backing his car into me (!), and they therefore were refusing to pay me. My insurance carrier said it was up to me to provide proof my car wasn't moving, regardless of the fact his car backed into mine! I approached the repair firm, and they provided me with photos and offered testimony to state that my car was obviously stopped, based on the damage to the door. I called the individual and said with this information unless he paid the bill in full, I would take him to small claims court. He argued but produced a check for the full amount. A month later, my insurance carrier raised my rate based on this incident and a highway speeding ticket over a year ago. I ended up paying more for my insurance and lost a great deal of time despite both of us being insured. Where did I go wrong?

I'm going to get my license next month but my parents told me I can't get a car, which I am in terms with. However, they did say I could occasionally borrow their cars when they aren't busy or at work or something like that. Annuities and life insurance, please help?

I am 35 yrs old and I recently purchased Index Universal Life insurance for the tax free money, guarantee return flat rate, and protection from market loss. I also have $100k in my 401k and my insurance agent suggest I rollover to an index annuity to get the best maximum return. I will get a 10% bonus and both the interest and 10% bonus will be compounded for next 30 yrs. If I withdraw at age 55 at 4%, my yearly index return rate is $9.261. I can see for the first 11 years, the annuity company is giving back my original amount. If I live through age 86, I would have withdraw total amount $185,200. Everyone keeps telling me life insurance is a bad investment because of fees and the agent is trying to get a big commission off me. After running and looking at the numbers, it seems annuities and life insurance are the best savings program. Is there something else about the numbers quoted I should be aware of?

I am 20 years old Guy, and my car insurance is up for renewal, i have a Peugeot 306 hdi 2.0 turbo diesel. I have 2 years driving experience, however only have had a car for 1 year. I have had no claims, no tickets, no points on my lisence. Im Fully Comprehensive, live in a good area, have no criminal record, and park my car on the drive. I have my father, a Police Officer with 30 years no claims and 30 years experience as a named driver on my insurance. My Insurance last year was 1400 (steep yeah) and now its up for renewal i have had a quote of 1100. To me, this seems really steep seeing as surely by now i have proved that i am not some boy racer with a deathwish. My question is, do you guys think ill be able to get this price down with alittle haggling, what would you expect to pay for insurance if you where in my situation?

A friend was stopped at a light when some idiot hit her car and totalled it! Although, she has full coverage on the car(she just recently finished paying off), the idiot who hit her did not have any insurance! The total she paid on her car was $13K. The insurance company only wants to give her the blue book value of $3000! The situation is even worse because the offending party have no insurance! Is the insurance company trying to rip her off?! What should she do to get back at least close to the total amount she paid for her car?
